Privacy

This site collects as little as it can. Here is what is collected, why, and by whom.

The controller is Vasser AS, Kjølberggata 21, 0653 Oslo, Norway, sans@vasser.no.

Visiting the site

The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner in Germany. Like any web server it keeps access logs with your IP address, the pages you request, the time, and your browser's user agent. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted after 14 days.

Visits are counted with Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service hosted in the EU. It records the page, the referrer, the country and the device type, without cookies and without anything that identifies you, so no consent banner is needed. There are no tracking pixels and no advertising scripts. The site sets no cookies for visitors. Fonts are served from this server, not from a third party.

Buying or downloading a product

Checkout runs on Polar (Polar Software Inc.), the merchant of record. When you buy or download something, Polar collects your name, email address, country and payment details to process the order, calculate VAT, deliver the files and send you a receipt. Vasser AS sees your name, email address, country and what you ordered, and keeps this for as long as bookkeeping law requires. Polar's own privacy policy is at polar.sh/legal/privacy.

If you tick the box to receive updates during checkout, your email address is added to the newsletter list described below.

Newsletter

The newsletter is sent with Kit (formerly ConvertKit). When you sign up, Kit stores your email address, the time you signed up and, if you confirm, your confirmation. Kit also records whether emails were opened and links clicked; this is used only to see whether the newsletter is worth reading. You can unsubscribe with the link in any email, and your address is then deleted from the list. Kit's privacy policy is at kit.com/privacy.

Email

If you email sans@vasser.no, the message is kept for as long as needed to answer you and to handle any follow-up, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask what data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask for a copy, or object to its use. Email sans@vasser.no. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet, or to the authority in your own country.
